philosophy telling us how to live our lives

Philosophy should tell you how to live. Or how to tell how to live. Or how to tell how to tell how to live. Or… But you must not let it get carried away.

I need more precision. Philosophy is good philosophy when it is telling you how to live the way you want to live.

This also goes meta, but the meta-ness collapses; it’s only apparent meta-ness due to the examples that the brain comes up with for ‘how to live.’ If I ask, “how should I want to live?” I still need some goal or value to maximize, and the only realistic source for it is which goal or value I want most.
